Galu Café & Delicatessen serves THE BEST banana matcha latte in San Diego. Their ceremonial-grade matcha is truly top tier and perfectly blended with a banana crème foam that is topped off with a baked banana slice. It’s Latino-owned, which makes supporting them feel even better! The consistency is unmatched and is one of those drinks that’s worth the drive!! Yes, even to Chula Vista. If you’re a banana matcha enthusiast I HIGHLY recommend coming here. You won’t regret it!!

Great spot for coffee, deli, etc. their toasts are delicious and with generous amount of ingredients, hope it stays the same. Always great costumer service and the atmosphere is also great. I highly recommend their bannana iced latte, Bannana cream hot latte, and their bannana matchas. I enjoy their toasts they are delicious. Staff is always very welcoming! Please don’t change Galu!

Really happy I found this place — I arrived on a Sunday morning and found everything on point. The outside seating (which I view to be an integral part of a coffee shop) had just enough shade, sunlight, and air, and the olive trees were absolutely a nice touch.

Came on a Monday in hopes that it wasn’t too much and that was a good idea however by the time I left it got busier. Line moves fast and it’s definitely worth the wait. Great options on drinks! I had the cafe de olla latte iced and it was so good! I also have the iced citrus refresher I mixed both flavor options which I believe were mango and strawberry. It was like having a tamarindo candy in a drink. Not too sweet and refreshing on a hot day! It paired nicely with the white chilaquiles, they were delicious. Also took a carrot cake loaf to go. Staff was friendly and efficient. It’s a small coffee shop and they do ask that 5 people go in at a time to help keep it cool and obviously not be too cramped. Bathrooms are available for customers. Plenty of seating area. I had a great experience and I would return. Their matcha drinks seem be popular I saw a lot of people ordering those.

banana matcha and guava matcha so good can’t wait to try the black sesame one next time. rly good and fast service ^_^ 1/22 i tried the black sesame matcha and it tasted more like miso which i was not a fan of, and it also was not as sweet as the other matchas. strawberry matcha is great!

I love this coffee shop — I stop by whenever I can. They have awesome drink options, and the matcha is pretty good too. But honestly, I always come back for the grilled cheese with that amazing tomato soup. The staff is super nice and they’re usually pretty quick, even when it gets crowded.

Came here on 1/30 to support the banana bread latte sales going to Al Otro Lado! The 20 minute wait just to order was worth it. Service and staff were really great! While in the busy rush without hesitation they acknowledged and gave a homeless man an iced cold water at his request! Definitely will be back again for more drinks and pastries!
